Cloud Monitor:Notification objects

Notification objects define the recipients and methods for alert notifications. You can send notifications to contacts by phone call, text message, and email, or through chatbots and custom webhooks. This allows you to effectively manage on-call schedules for your team.

Access the feature

  1. Log on to the CloudMonitor console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, select Alert Center or choose All Features > Alert Center.

  3. On the Alert Center page, choose Notification Management > Notification Objects.

Receive alerts by phone, SMS, or email

Contacts

  1. On the Contacts tab, click New Contact.

  2. In the New Contact dialog box, configure the following parameters and click OK.

    • Name: Enter a custom name for the contact. Duplicate names are allowed.

    • Identifier: Enter a custom identifier. The identifier must be unique across all contacts.

    • Language: Select the language for alert notifications: Chinese or English.

    • Phone: Enter the mobile phone number to receive alerts.

    • E-mail: Enter the email address to receive alert notifications.

  3. An activation link is sent to the specified phone number and email address. Click the link to complete the verification.

  4. After you create a contact, you can find, edit, or delete it on the Contacts tab:

    • Search for a contact: On the Contacts tab, enter a keyword for the contact's name in the search box on the right and click the Search icon.

    • Edit a contact: Find the target contact, click Edit in the Actions column, modify the information in the dialog box, and then click OK.

    • Delete a single contact: Find the target contact, click Delete in the Actions column, and then click OK in the confirmation dialog box.

    • Delete multiple contacts: Select the checkboxes of the target contacts, click Delete below the list, and then click OK in the confirmation dialog box.

Contact groups

  1. On the Contacts tab, click Contact Group List.

  2. Click New Contact Group.

  3. In the New Contact Group dialog box, configure the following parameters and click OK.

    • Name: Enter a custom name for the contact group.

    • Identifier: Enter a unique identifier for the contact group.

    • Contacts: Select existing contacts to add to the contact group.

  4. After you create a contact group, you can find, edit, or delete it on the Contact Group List:

    • Search for a group: In the search box in the upper-right corner, enter a keyword from the group name and click the 搜索 icon.

    • Edit or delete a group: Find the target contact group and click Edit or Delete in the Actions column.

Important
  • Before you delete a contact or contact group, make sure it is not part of any notification policy. Otherwise, sending alert notifications may fail.

  • You can only delete contacts and groups that you created.

Receive alerts via chatbots

  1. On the Notification Objects page, go to the Chatbots tab and click New Chatbot.

  2. In the New Chatbot dialog box, configure the following parameters and click OK.

    • Name: Enter a custom name for the chatbot. Duplicate names are allowed.

    • Identifier: Enter a unique identifier. The identifier must be unique across all chatbots.

    • Type: The type of chatbot that will receive alert notifications. Supported types include DingTalk, Lark, Slack, WeChat Work, and Microsoft Teams.

    • URL: Enter the callback URL for the selected chatbot type.

    • Language: Select the language for alert notifications: Chinese or English.

  3. After you create a chatbot, you can find, edit, or delete it on the Chatbots tab:

    • Search: To find a chatbot, filter by Type or enter a keyword from the chatbot's Name in the search box.

    • Edit: Find the target chatbot, click Edit in the Actions column, modify the information in the Edit Chatbot dialog box, and then click OK.

    • Delete: To delete a single chatbot, find the target chatbot and click Delete in the Actions column. To delete multiple chatbots, select their checkboxes, click Delete below the list, and then click OK.

Receive alerts via a custom webhook

  1. On the Notification Objects page, go to the Custom Webhook tab and click New Webhook.

  2. In the New Webhook dialog box, configure the following parameters and click OK.

    • Name: Enter a custom name for the webhook. Duplicate names are allowed.

    • Identifier: Enter a unique identifier. The identifier must be unique across all custom webhooks.

    • URL: Enter the callback URL for your custom webhook.

    • Headers: Optional request headers. You can add up to five parameters as <key><value> pairs.

    • Method: Select the request method: GET or POST.

    • Data Format: Select the data format for the request body: FORM or JSON.

    • Language: Select the language for notification messages: Chinese or English.

  3. After you create a custom webhook, you can find, edit, or delete it on the Custom Webhook tab:

    • Search: To find a custom webhook, enter a keyword from its Name in the search box.

    • Edit: Find the target custom webhook, click Edit in the Actions column, modify the information in the Edit Webhook dialog box, and then click OK.

    • Delete: To delete a single webhook, find the target webhook and click Delete in the Actions column. To delete multiple webhooks, select their checkboxes, click Batch Delete below the list, and then click OK.
