View an application group - Cloud Monitor - Alibaba Cloud Documentation Center

Application groups centralize the monitoring, alerting, and management of related cloud resources. After opening a group, check its health status, review active alerts, track resource performance, and investigate events from a single page.

Procedure

Log on to the Cloud Monitor console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Cloud Resource Monitoring > Application Groups.

On the Application Groups tab, click the name of the application group.

The Group Overview page displays the following sections:

Basic Information	General details about the application group
Associated Cloud Services	Cloud services linked to this group
Others	Quick status indicators for Availability Monitoring and Custom Monitoring

Note

The features available in the left-side navigation pane may vary depending on the type of application group.

Health and alerts

Use the left-side navigation pane to access health and alert features for the application group.

Feature	Description	Available actions
Fault List	All resources with active alerts. Each entry represents one metric on one resource that triggered an alert.	Identify unhealthy instances and investigate faults.
Alert Rules	All alert rules configured for the group.	View, enable, disable, or modify alert rules.
Alert History	A log of all alerts triggered based on alert rules.	Review past alerts.

Note

If multiple metrics on the same resource trigger alerts, the Fault List displays a separate entry for each metric. If an alert rule with active alerts is disabled, the corresponding entries are removed from the list.

Monitoring and events

Feature	Description	Available actions
Dashboards	Monitoring charts for the group's resources. By default, this page displays frequently used CloudMonitor metrics.	Add custom monitoring charts on the Custom Chart tab by clicking Add Monitoring Chart. Edit the chart layout by clicking Edit Layout.
Availability Monitoring	Availability check tasks for the group.	View, create, modify, delete, enable, or disable availability monitoring tasks.
System Event	System events from the last 90 days.	View events and create, modify, or delete alert rules for events.
Custom Event	Custom events from the last 90 days.	View events and create, modify, or delete alert rules for events.
Log Monitoring	Log-based monitoring metrics.	View, create, modify, or delete log monitoring metrics.
Custom Monitoring	Custom monitoring records reported through the API.	View records and create or delete alert rules.
Business Monitoring	Managed Service for Prometheus data, on-premises log monitoring data, Simple Log Service log monitoring data, and custom monitoring data.	Create metric import tasks, alert rules, and dashboards.

Note

To monitor Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instance metrics on the Dashboards page, install the CloudMonitor agent on the ECS instances. For more information, see Install and uninstall the CloudMonitor agent for C++.

Group management

Feature	Description	Available actions
Group Resources	All cloud resources belonging to this application group.	View and manage the group's resources.
Group Process	Process-level monitoring tasks.	View, create, modify, or delete process monitoring tasks.
