Cloud Monitor:Quota monitoring

Last Updated:Jun 21, 2026

Quota monitoring helps you track the quota usage of cloud services in your Alibaba Cloud account. You can view detailed monitoring charts and the alert history for your quotas to understand resource usage. You can also configure alert rules to monitor your resources. When a rule is triggered, Cloud Monitor automatically sends an alert notification to keep you informed of your quota status.

Background information

A quota is the maximum value for a cloud resource or the maximum number of operations that an Alibaba Cloud account can perform. Quotas for some cloud services are account-level, and quotas for other cloud services are region-level.

Viewing quota monitoring

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Cloud Monitor console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Cloud Resource Monitoring > Cloud Service Monitoring.

  3. On the Cloud Service Monitoring page, click the Quota tab to view all cloud services that support quota monitoring.

  4. Select a cloud service that you want to monitor. In the drop-down window that appears, click the target cloud service under quota monitoring.

  5. On the general quota or API rate limit list page for the target cloud service, you can view the monitoring details, alert rule, and alert history in the Actions column for a specific quota item.

Quota monitoring details

The monitoring details page shows the status and usage of a cloud service's quota resources.

Procedure

  1. On the general quota or API rate limit list page, find the target quota item and click monitoring details in the Actions column.

  2. In the Quota Monitoring Details dialog box, on the Monitoring & Analysis tab, you can view the Basic Information, Quota Dimension Information, and Dashboards sections.
