Cloud Monitor:Manage notification policies

By default, alert notifications are sent to the initial handler. For key alerts not handled within the specified time, notifications automatically escalate to the corresponding alert contact group based on alert level.

Create a notification policy

Prerequisites: An alert contact and an alert contact group are created. Create an alert contact or an alert contact group.

  1. Log on to the Cloud Monitor console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Event Center > Notification Configuration.

  3. On the Notification Configuration page, click Create policy.

  4. In the Create policy panel, configure the following parameters.

    Parameter

    Description

    Name

    The policy name.

    Description

    The policy description.

    Notifications

    The initial notification recipient. Available options for Notification Settings:

    • Set Notification Group Directly: Select an alert contact group.

    • Set the notification group by severity: Select an alert contact group by alert level: Critical, Warning, Notification (Info), or Resolved.

  5. Click OK.

Modify a notification policy

  1. Log on to the Cloud Monitor console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Event Center > Notification Configuration.

  3. On the Notification Configuration page, find the policy and click the edit icon Edit in the upper-right corner.

  4. In the Edit Policy panel, modify the policy parameters.

    Configure the policy based on the notification policy parameters.

  5. Click OK.

Delete a notification policy

  1. Log on to the Cloud Monitor console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Event Center > Notification Configuration.

  3. On the Notification Configuration page, find the policy and click the delete icon Delete in the upper-right corner.

  4. In the Delete Prompt dialog box, click OK.
