Cloud Monitor:Failure to delete a third-party host from Host Monitoring

If you cannot delete a third-party host from the Host Monitoring list in Cloud Monitor after uninstalling the agent, use the steps in this topic to resolve the issue.

Symptom

After you uninstall the Cloud Monitor agent from a third-party host, the host still cannot be deleted from the Host Monitoring list in Cloud Monitor.

Solution

If the following steps do not resolve the issue, you can submit a ticket for assistance.

To delete a third-party host, complete the following steps:

  1. Stop the Cloud Monitor agent on the third-party host.

    For more information, see Stop the Cloud Monitor agent.

    Note

    After you stop the agent, wait for a few minutes before proceeding to Step 2. The host cannot be deleted until Cloud Monitor finishes aggregating the reported metrics.

  2. Delete the third-party host from the Host Monitoring list.

    1. Log on to the Cloud Monitor console.

    2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Host Monitoring.

    3. On the Host Monitoring page, find the host that you want to delete. In the Actions column, click the image icon and select Delete Host.

    4. Confirm the deletion.

  3. Uninstall the Cloud Monitor agent from the third-party host.
