Cloud Monitor manages system events and custom events of Alibaba Cloud services in a centralized manner. You can configure alert rules for the system events of Alibaba Cloud services. This allows you to receive alert notifications at the earliest opportunity if exceptions occur. Then, you can efficiently analyze and troubleshoot issues. This topic describes how to create and test a system event-triggered alert rule.

The following table describes the event types and Alibaba Cloud services that are supported by Cloud Monitor.

Create a system event-triggered alert rule
Log on to the Cloud Monitor console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
On the Application Groups tab, click the name of the application group.
In the left-side navigation pane of the page that appears, click System Event.
Click the Event-triggered Alert Rules tab. On this tab, click Create Alert Rule.
Click Create an event subscription.
NoteThe system event-triggered alert rule feature of the old version is no longer upgraded and will be phased out. We recommend that you use the new event subscription feature.
On the Create Subscription Policy page, configure the parameters.
Click Submit.
Test a system event-triggered alert rule
You can test only a system event-triggered alert rule that is associated with a specific Alibaba Cloud service and a specific event.
Log on to the Cloud Monitor console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
On the Application Groups tab, click the name of the application group.
In the left-side navigation pane of the page that appears, click System Event.
On the Event-triggered Alert Rules tab, find the alert rule that you want to test, click the
icon in the Actions column, and then click Test. In the Create Event Test panel, select the event to be tested.
In the Content (JSON) section, edit the event content, such as the instance ID.
Click OK.
CloudMonitor generates an event based on the event content to trigger the alert rule.
What to do next
After you create a system event-triggered alert rule, you can modify, disable, enable, or delete the alert rule. On the Event-triggered Alert Rules tab, find the alert rule that you want to manage and click Modify, Disable, Enable, or Delete in the Actions column.
