Lists migration configuration parameters, task creation settings, and region IDs for the Cloud Migration Hub (CMH) batch assistant.

Migration configuration parameters

Parameter

Description

Remarks

Task name

Task name for this migration configuration.

Instance type

Source or destination instance type.

Alibaba Cloud database:

  • RDS: ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL, ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server, ApsaraDB RDS for PostgreSQL, or ApsaraDB RDS for MariaDB TX instance

  • PolarDB: PolarDB for MySQL cluster

Self-managed database:

  • OTHER: self-managed database that can be accessed from a public IP address

  • EXPRESS: self-managed database that is connected over Express Connect

  • DG: self-managed database that is connected over Database Gateway

Note

Instance area

Region of the source or destination instance.

  • Use a region ID from the Appendix: Region IDs section below.

Instance ID

The instance ID.

  • The instance ID must be unique within a task.

  • If the instance with the specified ID has been used in a migration plan, make sure that the instance is not in the Migrating state.

  • For an Alibaba Cloud database, use the database instance ID. For example, if Instance type is RDS and Database type is MYSQL, specify the ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL instance ID.

  • For OTHER instance type, set to any random string.

  • For EXPRESS instance type, set to the VPC ID connected to the source database.

  • For DG instance type, set to the database gateway ID.

Database type

Database engine of the source or destination instance.

  • MYSQL: ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL instance or self-managed MySQL database

  • POLARDB_O: PolarDB for Oracle cluster

  • ORACLE: self-managed Oracle database

Database name

Source or destination database name.

  • Required only when Database type is POLARDB_O.

IP address

IP address of the source or destination database.

  • Required only when Instance type isOTHER, EXPRESS, or DG from the Instance type drop-down list.

Port

Port for connecting to the source or destination database.

  • Required only when IP address is configured.

Database account

Database account for the migration.

  • The account must have read and write permissions on the databases and tables to migrate.

Database password

Password of the database account for the migration.

Table mapping definition

Database and table mappings for the migration.

Task creation parameters

Batch assistant name

The name of the batch assistant task.

Database type

The database engine of the source instance.

  • Automatically configured.

  • Used for identification only. Does not affect Step 1 configurations.

Migration type

The migration method.

  • Full migration: schema migration and full data migration.

  • Full + Incremental Migration: schema migration, full migration, and incremental migration.

  • Incremental migration does not stop automatically. Manually stop the task in the DTS console.

Instance size

Specifications of the purchased DTS instance.

Migration plan name

Target migration plan for this task.

  • The submitted task is automatically added to the specified migration plan.

  • If the task already exists in another plan, the system moves it to the newly specified plan.

Whether to start the migration task automatically

Specifies whether to start the migration task automatically.

  • Yes: Precheck and migration start automatically after submission.

  • No: Precheck starts automatically, but you must manually start migration in the DTS console.

Whether to join packet scheduling

Whether to add the task to a scheduling group.

  • Yes: adds the task to an Open scheduling group. CMH schedules the task based on the configured rules.

  • No: the task starts immediately after submission without scheduling.
