Cloud Migration Hub integrates with third-party tools to provide additional features and improve user experience. This topic describes the tools and their core capabilities.
You can use Cloud Migration Hub to monitor migration tasks created with the following tools. Before you can use Cloud Migration Hub to manage all your migration tasks, you must first connect the related migration tools to Cloud Migration Hub. Then, Cloud Migration Hub performs polling on your migration tasks and displays the task status in the Cloud Migration Hub console.
Server Migration Center (SMC): SMC is a migration platform developed by Alibaba Cloud. SMC allows you to migrate one or more source servers to Alibaba Cloud. The supported migration sources include servers located in data centers, virtual machines (VMs), and cloud hosts on other cloud platforms. In the Cloud Migration Hub console, you can disconnect SMC from Cloud Migration Hub or go to the SMC console to configure settings and view information.
ECS_OOS migration tool: Alibaba Cloud provides the ECS_OOS migration tool to migrate Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances within Alibaba Cloud. You can use the migration tool to create a snapshot of a single ECS instance to create an image. Then, you can use the image to purchase and create an ECS instance in the destination zone. You are not charged for using the migration tool. However, fees are generated for the image and newly purchased ECS instance. By default, the ECS_OOS migration tool is connected to Cloud Migration Hub. You can click Details to view the related documentation.
Data Transmission Service (DTS): DTS supports data sources such as relational databases, NoSQL databases, and online analytical processing (OLAP) databases. DTS provides data migration, data subscription, and real-time synchronization to allow you to remotely and asynchronously transfer data within seconds in both public and hybrid cloud scenarios. DTS adopts the active geo-redundancy architecture that is developed to handle the workloads of Double 11 to provide real-time data transmission for thousands of downstream applications. DTS has proven its reliability with six years of stable operations. In the Cloud Migration Hub console, you can disconnect DTS from Cloud Migration Hub or go to the DTS console to configure settings and view information.
Cross-zone migration for ApsaraDB RDS and Tair (Redis® OSS-Compatible): You can use the cross-zone migration feature for ApsaraDB RDS and Tair (Redis® OSS-Compatible) to migrate instances across zones within the same region. The cross-zone migration operation is performed in the background, and you do not need to purchase new instances. The time required to complete the migration varies based on the amount of data to be migrated. In most cases, a few hours are required to migrate an instance. When the zone of the instance is being switched, the virtual IP address of the instance changes, and the instance becomes temporarily unavailable. Make sure that your application can automatically reconnect to the instance and does not use the IP address of the instance for connection. Data migration service: The data migration service supports online data migration between any two services among Alibaba Cloud Object Storage Service (OSS), Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), Amazon S3 Inventory, Alibaba Cloud OSS Inventory, Tencent Cloud Object Storage (COS), Qiniu Cloud's object storage (KODO), and HTTP or HTTPS data sources.
MaxCompute Migration Assist (MMA): MMA is a data migration tool provided by Alibaba Cloud to migrate data from Hive to MaxCompute. This tool can be flexibly deployed to synchronize and verify Hive objects and data. It also supports visualized online operations.
LakeHouse Migration (LHM): LHM is a migration platform that supports the migration of big data systems to Alibaba Cloud and the management of migration tasks. This platform provides features and services such as metadata management, big data migration, automatic SQL reconstruction, data verification, and end-to-end monitoring.
The status of LHM tasks is synchronized to Cloud Migration Hub by using an agent. You must download and install an agent in your LHM environment and keep the agent connected.
