Cloud Firewall provides the flexibility to switch between the subscription and pay-as-you-go billing methods without compromising service availability. This topic describes the conversion process and important considerations.
Convert a subscription edition to a pay-as-you-go edition
Before you begin
Refund policy: When you change from a subscription to a pay-as-you-go billing method, the unused prepaid amount is refunded based on the refund policy.
Log billing rule: If the log analysis feature is enabled, your pay-as-you-go plan is billed based on the log storage capacity of your original subscription. To change the storage capacity, go to the Overview page. In the Version Information section, click Upgrade or Downgrade.
Upgrade from the old billing method: If you use billing method 1.0, your service is automatically upgraded to billing method 2.0 after the change. Your existing configurations remain unchanged. For more information about the differences between billing method 2.0 and 1.0, see Key differences.
Procedure
Log on to the Cloud Firewall console.
In the upper-right corner of the Overview page, choose .
On the Change Subscription to Pay-As-You-Go page, read the notes and the Terms of Service, and then click Purchase Now.
Convert a pay-as-you-go edition to a subscription edition
Before you begin
Billing rules: After you convert a pay-as-you-go edition to a subscription edition, a final bill for your pay-as-you-go usage is generated and settled on the next day (T+1).
Upgrade from an old billing method: If you are using billing method 1.0, your billing method is automatically upgraded to 2.0 after the conversion. Your configurations are not affected. For more information about the differences between billing method 2.0 and 1.0, see Main differences.
Logs for the old billing method: If you use billing method 1.0 and have Simple Log Service enabled, a new log project is created after the conversion. The original log project, which is named in the format
cloudfirewallnew-project-Alibaba Cloud account ID-RegionID, is retained and continues to incur charges. To avoid further charges, you must manually delete the original project if you no longer need it.Specification requirements: When you convert from a pay-as-you-go to a subscription edition, ensure that the specification of the new edition can support at least the number of your currently protected assets.
Procedure
Log on to the Cloud Firewall console.
On the Overview page, in the upper-right corner, choose .
On the Switch Billing Method of Cloud Firewall from Pay-as-you-go to Subscription page, read the Note, select the I have read and understood the preceding note. checkbox, and then click Confirm.
On the Cloud Firewall purchase page, purchase a Cloud Firewall subscription edition that meets your requirements.
The conversion to a subscription edition takes effect after you purchase the new subscription instance. Until the purchase is complete, your pay-as-you-go configurations remain active.
