This topic describes how to switch the billing method of Cloud Firewall between subscription and pay-as-you-go.
Switch from subscription to pay-as-you-go
Before you begin
Refunds: When you switch from subscription to pay-as-you-go, you receive a refund for the unused portion of your subscription based on the refund policy.
Log settings: If the log analysis feature is enabled, your new pay-as-you-go plan is billed for the same log storage capacity as your previous subscription plan. To adjust the capacity, go to the Overview page, find the asset protection status section, and click Upgrade.
Legacy billing method conversion: If you are using legacy billing method 1.0, it automatically upgrades to billing method 2.0 after the switch. Your configurations for billing method 1.0 are retained. For more information about the differences between billing method 2.0 and 1.0, see Key differences.
Procedure
Log in to the Cloud Firewall console.
In the upper-right corner of the Overview page, choose .
On the Cloud Firewall subscription to pay-as-you-go page, read the Note, select I have read and agree to the Cloud Firewall (Pay-as-you-go) Terms of Service, then click Buy Now.
Switch from pay-as-you-go to subscription
Before you begin
Billing rules: When you switch from pay-as-you-go to subscription, the system generates and settles a final bill for your pay-as-you-go usage at 18:00 on the following day (T+1).
Legacy billing method conversion: If you are using legacy billing method 1.0, it automatically upgrades to billing method 2.0 after the switch. Your configurations for billing method 1.0 are retained. For more information about the differences between billing method 2.0 and 1.0, see Key differences.
Legacy billing method log Project: If you are using legacy billing method 1.0 and have the log analysis feature enabled, a new log Project is created after the switch. The original log Project, named in the format
cloudfirewall-project-Alibaba Cloud account ID-region ID, will be deleted. If you need to retain the original log data, back it up before you switch.
The specification of the new subscription plan must be greater than or equal to the number of assets currently protected.
The switch begins only after you successfully purchase the subscription plan. Until the purchase is complete, your pay-as-you-go plan and all its configurations remain unchanged.
After you switch from pay-as-you-go to subscription, your access control policies remain unchanged. Verify your configurations in the console if needed.
Procedure
Log in to the Cloud Firewall console.
In the upper-right corner of the Overview page, choose .
On the Switch Billing Method of Cloud Firewall from Pay-as-you-go to Subscription page, read the Note, select I have read and understood the preceding note., then click Confirm.
On the Cloud Firewall purchase page, purchase a Cloud Firewall subscription that meets your business needs.
After a successful switch, Cloud Firewall is billed based on the subscription model.
