Cloud Box:Delivery and acceptance of a cloud box

After you purchase or scale out resources for a cloud box, Alibaba Cloud delivers the cloud box to you. After Alibaba Cloud delivers the cloud box, you need to perform the acceptance test of the cloud box and complete the acceptance in the Elastic Compute Service (ECS) console. After you complete the acceptance, the cloud box enters the billing term, and you can use the cloud box.

Deliver a cloud box

After your order is received, Alibaba Cloud contacts you within three business days to confirm the information about your order, including the deployment site and the resources of the cloud box. After the order is confirmed, Alibaba Cloud starts the process of delivering the cloud box. The process involves the following two steps:

  1. Conduct an on-site engineering survey.

    A cloud box must be installed in a data center that meets the deployment requirements, such as the requirements for environment and power supply. For more information about the deployment requirements, see Deployment requirements. The actual deployment requirements provided by an Alibaba Cloud engineer on-site prevail.
    • Before you purchase a cloud box, you can view the deployment requirements for cloud boxes in the documentation and renovate your data center in advance.
    • After you purchase a cloud box, Alibaba Cloud contacts you to conduct an on-site engineering survey on your data center.
      • If your data center meets the deployment requirements, Alibaba Cloud installs and deploys the cloud box in your data center.
      • If your data center does not meet the deployment requirements, you need to renovate your data center to meet the deployment requirements.
      Note You must appoint network engineers and electrical engineers to cooperate with Alibaba Cloud engineers to complete the engineering survey. A physical report on the results of the engineering survey is provided by Alibaba Cloud. You can renovate your data center based on the suggestions in the report as needed.
  2. Install and deploy a cloud box.

    If your data center meets the deployment requirements, the cloud box can be installed and deployed. The procedure for installing and deploying a cloud box involves the following steps:
    1. Alibaba Cloud engineers negotiate with you about when to install the cloud box.
    2. Alibaba Cloud ships the cloud box to your data center.
    3. Alibaba Cloud engineers install and deploy the cloud box in your data center at the specified time.
      Note The cloud box that you purchased is installed and deployed by Alibaba Cloud engineers. You need to appoint relevant engineers to cooperate with Alibaba Cloud engineers. For example, you must appoint electrical engineers to ensure that the electrical installation is conducted based on applicable laws, regulations, and safety requirements. You must also appoint network engineers to cooperate with Alibaba Cloud engineers to connect on-site networks and debug connectivity issues.

Complete the acceptance of the cloud box

After Alibaba Cloud delivers the cloud box, you are required to perform an acceptance test of the cloud box. You need to complete the acceptance in the ECS console. Otherwise, you cannot use the cloud box.

Important

If you do not complete the acceptance within 15 business days, the cloud box is deemed accepted.

  1. Log on to the ECS console. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Instances & Images > CloudBox. On the page that appears, click the Cloud Boxes tab.

  2. Find the cloud box that you want to accept and click the ID of the cloud box.

  3. Click the Orders tab.

  4. Find the order to be accepted and click Accept in the Actions column.

  5. In the dialog box that appears, click OK.

    After you complete the acceptance, the cloud box enters the billing term, and you can use the cloud box.
