Cloud Backup:How do I change the AccessKey pair of a gateway used for VMware backup and disaster recovery to reactivate the gateway?

After you rotate the AccessKey pair for your Alibaba Cloud account, the VMware backup and disaster recovery gateway loses authentication and stops working. This topic explains how to update the gateway with a new AccessKey pair to restore its operation.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that you have:

• A new AccessKey pair generated in the Alibaba Cloud console

• SSH or vSphere Web Client console access to the gateway

Reactivate the gateway

1. Log in to the gateway using SSH or the vSphere Web Client console.

2. Switch to the client installation directory: cd /opt/alibabacloud/hbr/data/.

3. Run the following command to delete the local configuration database:

   rm -f console.mv.db

   Warning: This command permanently deletes the gateway's local configuration database, including stored AccessKey credentials. Have the new AccessKey pair ready before running this command.

4. Restart the service to clear the stored credentials:

   systemctl restart hbr

5. In the Cloud Backup console, reactivate the disaster recovery gateway using the new AccessKey pair.
