This topic describes the reasons for overdue payments for Cloud Backup and the status of your service after a payment becomes overdue.
If a payment becomes overdue, your service is at risk of suspension. The system sends you a notification. Renew your service promptly to avoid service disruptions.
Reasons for overdue payments
An overdue payment for Cloud Backup may occur in the following situations:
You purchased a resource plan, but your usage exceeds the plan's quota and your account balance is insufficient.
You did not purchase a resource plan to cover the costs of the service, and your account balance is insufficient.
Service status after an overdue payment
If your Cloud Backup account has an overdue payment, note the following:
Overdue period | Description |
Within 15 days after a payment becomes overdue |
|
15 days after a payment becomes overdue |
|
More than 15 days after service suspension | You are considered to have voluntarily abandoned the Cloud Backup service. Alibaba Cloud will terminate the terms of service for this product and stop providing the service. All your data stored on Alibaba Cloud will be deleted. Deleted data cannot be recovered. Billing stops before the data is deleted. Important If you do not settle the overdue payment (meaning your account balance is less than 0) within 15 days after the service is suspended, all your data stored on Alibaba Cloud will be deleted. Deleted data cannot be recovered. This applies regardless of whether you have purchased a resource plan or if the resource plan is still valid. |
VMware virtual machine migration
If your account has an overdue payment, VMware virtual machine migration tasks fail. To restart a migration, you must first top up your account. Overdue payments for ECS instances that are created from a migration are handled in the same way as for regular ECS instances.
