Tags let you categorize and manage ApsaraDB for ClickHouse clusters so you can filter and retrieve them efficiently. Attach tags to clusters to organize them by environment, owner, project, or cost center — then use tag-based filtering to quickly locate the clusters you need.
Use cases
Tags serve four main purposes:
Resource organization: Group clusters by team, environment, or project to manage large deployments at scale.
Cost allocation: Associate clusters with business units or projects to break down costs in billing reports.
Automation: Use tags to identify clusters that should be included in or excluded from automated operations.
Access control: Apply tag-based conditions to restrict access to specific clusters.
Limitations
| Constraint | Detail |
|---|---|
| Max tags per cluster | 20 |
| Max tags per operation | You can attach or remove a maximum of 20 tags in a single operation |
| Tag key uniqueness | Tag keys must be unique per cluster. Attaching a tag with a duplicate key overwrites the existing value |
| Tag scope | Tags are region-specific. Tags created in one region are not visible in other regions |
| Auto-deletion | If you remove a tag from all clusters, the tag is automatically deleted |
| Enterprise Edition |
