Billing method

Description

Subscription

Also known as prepaid billing. You pay for the cluster when you purchase it. This method is cost-effective for long-term needs. The longer the subscription period, the greater the discount. Subscription clusters are automatically released upon expiration. You do not need to manually release them. If you need to unsubscribe a subscription cluster during the contract period, see Refund rules for early unsubscription.

Pay-as-you-go

Also known as postpaid billing. A bill is generated every hour, and fees are deducted from your Alibaba Cloud account based on the cluster specifications at the time of billing. This method is suitable for short-term needs, such as testing. You can release the cluster immediately after use to save costs. After your resource usage stabilizes, you can switch from pay-as-you-go to a subscription plan.
