This topic describes the two billing methods of ApsaraDB for ClickHouse.
Billing methods
ApsaraDB for ClickHouse supports the subscription and pay-as-you-go billing methods.
Billing method | Description |
Subscription | The subscription billing method allows you to use resources only after you pay for them. You can complete the payment when you purchase a cluster. For long-term usage, the subscription billing method is more cost-effective than the pay-as-you-go billing method. You are provided with larger discounts for longer subscription periods. Important You cannot change the billing method of a cluster from subscription to pay-as-you-go. |
Pay-as-you-go | The pay-as-you-go billing method allows you to use resources before you pay for them. The system generates a bill per hour for the resources. This billing method is cost-effective for business scenarios that require access to resources for short periods of time, such as testing. You can release an ApsaraDB for ClickHouse cluster based on your business requirements to save costs. When you can accurately estimate the amount of resources that you need each month or each year, you can change the billing method from pay-as-you-go to subscription.
