    ChatApp Message Service:Create a WhatsApp Business account

    This topic describes how to create a WhatsApp Business account (WABA) in the ChatApp console. After you associate your WABA with ChatApp Message Service, you can use ChatApp to send messages to WhatsApp users.

    Prerequisites

    • ChatApp Message Service is activated.

    • An Alibaba Cloud account is created and enterprise verification is complete for the Alibaba Cloud account. If you do not have an Alibaba Cloud account or do not complete enterprise verification, go to the Register account page to create a business account and go to the Real-name Registration page to complete enterprise real-name verification.

    • A Facebook Business Manager account is created and enterprise verification is complete. If you have not gone through the verification process, you can start the verification process by referring to Verify your business in business settings.

    Background

    When you create a WABA, make sure that the enterprise information that you enter is the same as that you enter in ChatApp. This can help you pass the review by WhatsApp in a quick manner.

    Procedure

    1. Log on to the ChatApp console.

    2. In the left-side navigation pane, click WABA onboarding.

    3. On the page that appears, click register to go to the Facebook logon page.

      • If you have logged in to Facebook, click Continue as <Your username>.

      • If you have not logged in to Facebook, click Log into another account.

    4. Click Get Started.

    5. Click Continue.

      Important

      To allow Alibaba Cloud ChatApp to manage your WABA, you must grant the access permissions and bill management permissions on your WABA to ChatApp.

    6. Create an account based on the on-screen instructions.

      Important

      The steps that are described in the following table are for reference only. When you create a WABA, you need to perform the steps that are required on the official website of Facebook.

      Description

      Step 1: Create a Meta business account and a WABA.

      1. Create or select a Meta business account.

        The Meta account is associated with your WABA.

      2. Create or select a WABA.

        The WABA is bound to your Meta account.

      Note

      If you create a Meta business account or a WABA, your information must be reviewed and approved by WhatsApp before you can use the account.

      Step 2: Create your enterprise profile.

      Create or select your enterprise profile that you want to display to your customers.

      Step 3 (optional): Verify your phone number.

      • If you log on to WhatsApp Business with an existing WhatsApp account, this step is not required.

      • If you create a WABA, you must verify your phone number.
