Cloud Data Transfer (CDT) insists on providing inclusive benefits to users and continuously increases the quota of free Internet data transfers, allowing most users to use Internet data transfers for free. Starting from 00:00:00 on March 1, 2024, the quota of free Internet data transfers provided by CDT is increased from 10 GB/month to 20 GB/month. This benefit is applicable to the Internet data transfers generated by the pay-by-data-transfer instances of seven Alibaba Cloud products over Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) lines. The Internet data transfers in all Alibaba Cloud regions are aggregated for billing.

How to obtain a free quota
Users who did not activate CDT before 00:00:00 on March 1, 2024: After you activate CDT after 00:00:00 on March 1, 2024, you can obtain the quota: 20 GB/month of free Internet data transfers.
Users who activated CDT before 00:00:00 on March 1, 2024: The quota of free Internet data transfers is automatically upgraded from 10 GB/month to 20 GB/month.
How to use a free quota
You can make full use of a quota of free Internet data transfers in two simple steps.
1. Activate CDT
Log on to the CDT console.
NoteCDT can be activated in the CDT console in two modes. You can log on to the CDT console and perform the following steps to activate CDT.
Mode 1: one-click activation
Click Activate Now for Internet Data Transfer and Inter-region Data Transfer.
Read and agree to CDT Terms of Service and click Activate to activate CDT.
After CDT is activated, Succeeded is displayed in the Status column.
Mode 2: activation by product and region
Select a region that you want to manage and a product that you want to use and click Activate Now.
Read and agree to CDT Terms of Service and click Activate to activate CDT.
2. Create a pay-by-data-transfer instance and use the free quota
To better use the quota of free Internet data transfers, check whether a pay-by-data-transfer instance is available. If you have only activated CDT but have not created a pay-by-data-transfer instance, the free quota is not used.
After you activate CDT, existing pay-by-data-transfer instances are automatically changed to be billed by CDT. You can go to the buy page or the CDT console to create a pay-by-data-transfer instance. The quota of free Internet data transfers provided by CDT is applicable to the pay-by-data-transfer instances of the following seven Alibaba Cloud products.
