CDN:Specify the origin host for each origin

Last Updated:Feb 26, 2026

If an accelerated domain name is configured with multiple origin servers and you need to retrieve resources from different virtual sites based on the HOST header, use the specify the origin host for each origin feature. This feature lets you configure a unique origin host for each origin server.

Overview

When your accelerated domain name is attached to multiple origin servers, the default origin host sends the same domain name to all origin servers. This requires each origin server to host a virtual site for that domain name. With the specify the origin host for each origin feature, you can set a distinct origin host for each origin server. This provides flexibility and eliminates unnecessary configuration work. For more information about how origin hosts work, see Configure the default origin host.

Note

If you configure both the default origin host and specify the origin host for each origin, points of presence (POPs) send the origin host configured for that specific origin server when accessing it.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the CDN console.

  2. In the left navigation pane, click Domain Names.

  3. On the Domain Names page, find the target domain name and click Manage in the Actions column.

  4. In the domain's navigation pane, click Origin Fetch.

  5. In the Origin Host for Each Origin section, click Add.

  6. In the Specify Origin Host dialog box, configure the parameters.
