Because of rule changes from certificate authorities (CAs), the success rate for automatic free certificate renewal has declined. Consequently, Alibaba Cloud CDN will gradually stop renewing existing free certificates, starting at 00:00 on April 15, 2023. If you use a free HTTPS certificate, this document explains the steps you need to take.

Background: Alibaba Cloud CDN discontinued new applications for free certificates on January 6, 2022, Although new applications were no longer accepted, existing free certificates continued to renew automatically.
The Change: As a result of decreasing success rates for automatic renewals due to CA rule changes, Alibaba Cloud CDN will gradually stop renewing existing free certificates, starting at 00:00 on April 15, 2023. If your domain name is still using a free certificate provided by Alibaba Cloud CDN , you must upload your own certificate and update the HTTPS certificate configuration before the current certificate expires.
Checking for free certificates
Log on to the Alibaba Cloud CDN console .
In the left-side navigation pane, click Domain Names.
On the Domain Names page, find the target domain name and click Manage in the Actions column.
In the left-side navigation pane for the domain name, click HTTPS.
In the HTTPS Certificate section, check the certificate type.
If Certificate Type is set to Free Certificate, this indicates that it is a free certificate obtained from the Alibaba Cloud CDN console.
Solutions
Purchase a certificate from another SSL certificate provider. After purchasing and downloading the certificate, manually reconfigure the HTTPS certificate for your Alibaba Cloud CDN domain name. For more information, see Configure an HTTPS certificate.
