When you stop using Alibaba Cloud CDN, your goal is to end all associated charges. CDN lacks a single "disable" button because it is a composite service that integrates with other billable components like Log Service (SLS) and Object Storage Service (OSS). An abrupt shutdown could also disrupt your services. To stop all charges safely, you must decommission each billable component. This guide details the steps to remove all CDN-related resources, stop all charges, and maintain your origin server's availability.
Process overview and risk warning
Business impact: Following these procedures, especially deleting an accelerated domain name, will stop CDN traffic delivery and may interrupt your business.
Recommended workflow: Before deleting any CDN resources, first update your domain's DNS records to bypass the CDN and point directly to your origin server. After confirming your services are stable, proceed with deleting the accelerated domain name, and then clean up any associated services like logging.
Incomplete billing stoppage: If you do not complete all required steps, you will continue to be charged. To stop all charges, complete every relevant step.
Disable real-time log delivery
If you have enabled the real-time log delivery feature, disable the feature and clear the logs stored in Simple Log Service before you remove your domain names. For more information about real-time logs, see What are real-time logs?.
Disable offline log transfer
If you have enabled the offline log transfer, disable the feature and clear the logs stored in OSS before deleting your domain names. For more information, see Store standard logs using Function Compute.
Delete accelerated domain names
You must delete all accelerated domain names that you have added to CDN. Deleting an accelerated domain name completely stops the CDN service for that domain, and you will not incur further charges for it. For more information, see Stop an acceleration service.
