Bastionhost:Add and manage database accounts

After you import a database into your bastion host, add the database's existing accounts to Bastionhost so that O&M engineers can log on to the database and perform O&M operations through the bastion host.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that you have:

  • Imported the target database into your bastion host. For details, see [Import a database]().

  • Access to the Bastionhost console

Navigate to the database list

Each operation below starts from the same entry point. Complete these steps before following the task-specific instructions.

  1. Log on to the Bastionhost console. In the top navigation bar, select the region where your bastion host resides.

  2. In the bastion host list, find the bastion host you want to manage and click Manage.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Assets > Database.

Add database accounts

Add a single account

On the Database page, click Add Database Account in the Actions column for the target database. In the Add Database Account panel, enter the logon name and password, then click Create.

Add multiple accounts at a time

On the Database page, select multiple databases, then choose Batch > Database Account > Add Account. In the Add Account dialog box, configure the parameters and click Create.

Clear a database account password

  1. On the Database page, click the number in the Database Accounts column for the target database.

  2. On the Database Account tab, click Clear in the Password column for the account.

Rename a database account

  1. On the Database page, click the number in the Database Accounts column for the target database.

  2. On the Database Account tab, click the account name in the Logon Name column.

  3. In the Modify Database Account panel, update the Logon Name value and click Update.

Remove database accounts

Remove a single account

  1. On the Database page, click the number in the Database Accounts column for the target database.

  2. On the Database Account tab, find the account and click Delete. In the dialog box, click Delete.

Remove multiple accounts at a time

On the Database page, select multiple databases, then choose Batch > Database Account > Delete Account. In the Delete Account dialog box, click OK.
