Bastionhost:Change the service port of a host

Last Updated:Mar 31, 2026

Bastionhost connects to hosts using Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) on port 3389 and Secure Shell (SSH) on port 22 by default. If a host listens on a non-default port, update the service port in Bastionhost to match—otherwise, O&M sessions to that host will fail to connect.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure that you know the actual port number the host uses for RDP or SSH.

Change the service port of a single host

  1. Log on to the Bastionhost console. In the top navigation bar, select the region where your bastion host resides.

  2. In the bastion host list, find the bastion host and click Manage.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Assets > Hosts.

  4. On the Hosts page, click the name of the host whose service port you want to update.

  5. In the host details panel, click the Service Port tab.

  6. Set the RDP or SSH port to the actual port the host is listening on, then click Update.

The port you enter must exactly match the port the host is listening on. A mismatch prevents O&M logins through the bastion host.

  2. In the bastion host list, find the bastion host and click Manage.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Assets > Hosts.

  4. On the Hosts page, select the hosts whose service ports you want to update, then choose Batch > Modify O &M Port.

  5. In the Modify O &M Port dialog box, select the Protocol and enter the Port, then click OK.
