When a host has both a public and a private IP address, Bastionhost connects using the private IP address by default. Use this procedure to switch one or more hosts to use the public IP address instead, or to switch back to private.
IP address type selection
Bastionhost connects to each host through a single IP address type, set by the Host IP Address Type field:

| Public IP address | Bastionhost connects to the host by using its public IP address. |
If a host has both a public and a private IP address, Bastionhost uses the private IP address by default. Change this setting only to override that behavior.
Change the O&M IP address type
Log on to the Bastionhost console. In the top navigation bar, select the region where your bastion host resides.
In the bastion host list, find the bastion host and click Manage.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Assets > Hosts.
On the Hosts page, select the hosts for which you want to change the O&M IP address, then choose Batch > Modify O&M IP Address below the host list.
In the Modify O&M IP Address dialog box, set Host IP Address Type to Public IP Address or Private IP Address, then click OK.
