Scenario

Number of assets

If the number of assets that can be managed by your bastion host exceeds your business requirements, you can downgrade the number of assets that can be managed by your bastion host.

Note

Before you can downgrade the number of assets that can be managed by your bastion host, you must reduce the number of imported assets in your bastion host to a value no greater than the number of assets that you want your bastion host to manage. Otherwise, you cannot downgrade the number of assets that can be managed by your bastion host. For example, the number of assets that can be managed by your bastion host is 100 and 60 assets are imported into your bastion host. If you want to downgrade the number of assets that can be managed by your bastion host to 50, you must reduce the number of imported assets to 50 or less.

Bandwidth

If the bandwidth of your bastion host exceeds your business requirements, you can downgrade the bandwidth.

Valid values: 0 Mbit/s to 150 Mbit/s. You can change the value in increments of 5 Mbit/s.

Storage

If the storage of your bastion host exceeds your business requirements, you can downgrade the storage.

Valid values: 0 TB to 500 TB. You can change the value in increments of 1 TB.

Important
  • You cannot downgrade a bastion host from a later version to an earlier version, such as from V3.2.41 to V3.2.40.

  • When you downgrade the number of assets that a bastion host can manage, you can select only from the available values for Assets on the Downgrade page.

  • You cannot downgrade a bastion host from the Enterprise edition to the Basic edition.

Downgrade fees

A configuration downgrade may result in a refund. The refund amount is the difference between the remaining amount of the configuration price before the downgrade and the price of the new configuration.

Procedure

Warning

A bastion host that is being downgraded is in the Updating Configuration state. The downgrade process requires approximately 20 minutes to complete, and your business may be interrupted for approximately 1 minute. We recommend that you downgrade your bastion host during off-peak hours.
