If the default configurations of a bastion host cannot meet your O&M requirements, you can upgrade the bastion host. This topic describes how to upgrade a bastion host.

Description

  • You can upgrade the specification, bandwidth, and storage of a bastion host that runs the Basic edition. You can also upgrade the bastion host to the Enterprise edition.
  • You can upgrade the specification, bandwidth, and storage of a bastion host that runs the Enterprise edition.

Supported items

Item Scenario
Edition If the configurations of a bastion host that runs the Basic edition cannot meet your O&M requirements, you can upgrade the bastion host to the Enterprise edition. Bastion hosts that run the Enterprise edition provides the same O&M and audit features as bastion hosts that run the Basic edition. Bastion hosts that run the Enterprise edition also provides higher basic configurations, more abundant O&M capabilities, more bandwidth, and larger storage than bastion hosts that run the Basic edition. Bastion hosts that run the Enterprise edition offer higher business stability and better O&M services. Specification If the number of assets to be managed by a bastion host exceeds the specification that you select when you purchase the bastion host, you can upgrade the specification to increase the number of assets that can be managed.

Extra bandwidth If the default bandwidth of a bastion host cannot meet your requirements, you can upgrade the bandwidth. The following list describes this item:
  • Value range: 10 Mbit/s to 500 Mbit/s
  • Increment: 10 Mbit/s

Extended storage plan If the default storage of a bastion host cannot meet your requirements, you can upgrade the storage. The following list describes this item:
  • Value range: 1 TB to 500 TB
  • Increment: 1 TB

Note
  • You cannot downgrade the edition or specification of a bastion host.
  • If you downgrade the bandwidth and storage of a bastion host during a billing cycle, you cannot request a refund for the downgrade. You are charged based on the new bandwidth and storage from the next billing cycle.

Procedure

The following procedure provides an example on how to upgrade a bastion host that runs the Basic edition.

  1. Log on to the Bastionhost console.
  2. On the Instances page, find the bastion host that you want to upgrade and click Upgrade.
    Notice You cannot downgrade the bastion host after it is upgraded. Proceed with caution.

  3. On the Upgrade/Downgrade page, configure Version, Plan, Extra Bandwidth plan, and Extra Storage Plan based on your business requirements.
    Notice You can use a bastion host that runs the Basic edition to maintain a maximum of 500 assets. If you set Plan to a value that is greater than 500, the edition of the bastion host is switched to the Enterprise edition.
  4. Click bastionhost Terms of Service. Read and agree to the terms of service, go to the Upgrade/Downgrade page, and then select bastionhost Terms of Service.
  5. Confirm the configuration and click Buy Now.
    Your bastion host is upgraded as you specified.
    Note The bastion host after the upgrade is still subject to its original lifecycle.
