Scenario

Edition

If the configurations of a bastion host that runs the Basic edition cannot meet your O&M requirements, you can upgrade the bastion host to the Enterprise edition. Bastion hosts that run the Enterprise edition provide the same O&M and audit features as bastion hosts that run the Basic edition. Bastion hosts that run the Enterprise edition also provide higher basic configurations, more abundant O&M capabilities, more bandwidth, and larger storage than bastion hosts that run the Basic edition. Bastion hosts that run the Enterprise edition offer higher business stability and better O&M services. For more information about the differences in features between bastion hosts that run the Basic and Enterprise editions, see Functions and features.

Number of assets

If the default number of assets cannot meet your requirements, you can increase the number. The maximum number of supported assets is 10,000.

Bandwidth

If the default bandwidth of a bastion host cannot meet your requirements, you can upgrade the bandwidth. Valid values: 0 Mbit/s to 200 Mbit/s. You can increase the value in increments of 10.

Storage capacity

If the default storage of a bastion host cannot meet your requirements, you can upgrade the storage. Valid values: 0 TB to 500 TB. You can increase the value in increments of 1 TB.

Procedure

The following procedure provides an example on how to upgrade a bastion host that runs the Basic edition.

Warning

A bastion host that is being upgraded is in the Updating Configuration state. The upgrade process requires approximately 20 minutes to complete, and service interruptions occur during the process. We recommend that you upgrade your bastion host during off-peak hours.

  1. Log on to the Bastionhost console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Basic Edition & Enterprise Edition.

  3. On the Instances page, find the bastion host that you want to upgrade and click Upgrade.

  4. On the Upgrade/Downgrade page, configure parameters to upgrade the bastion host.

    Important

You can use a bastion host that runs the Basic edition to maintain a maximum of 500 assets. If you set Assets to a value that is greater than 500, the edition of the bastion host is switched to the Enterprise edition.

  5. Read and select Terms of Service, click Buy Now, and then complete the payment.

The bastion host after the upgrade is still subject to its original lifecycle.
