The scaling group monitoring feature allows you to view the changes in the number of instances in different states in a scaling group. This allows you to obtain resource utilization of the scaling group over a specified period of time.

Background information

You can view changes in the number of Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances or elastic container instances in a scaling group.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Auto Scaling console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Scaling Groups.
  3. In the top navigation bar, select a region.
  4. Find a scaling group and go to the details page of the scaling group. You can use one of the following methods to go to the details page:
    • Click the ID of the scaling group in the Scaling Group Name/ID column.
    • Click Details in the Actions column of the scaling group.
  5. In the upper part of the page, click the Scaling Group Monitoring tab.
  6. View the changes in the number of instances in the scaling group and the distribution of the instances in each zone.
    1. Specify a time period over which the monitoring data in the scaling group is updated.

      • Manual refresh: You can select 1 Hour, 6 Hours, 12 Hours, 1 Day, or 1 Week, or specify a time period within a month.
      • Auto refresh: If you turn on Auto Refresh, the system automatically refreshes the monitoring data every five seconds.
    2. In the Instances in Scaling Group section, view the changes in the number of instances in the scaling group.

    3. In the Instances in Different Zones section, view the distribution of instances in each zone in the scaling group.
