Feature description

The defense plugin provides the following protection capabilities: baseline checks, vulnerability detection, prompt attack defense, sensitive data leakage prevention, tool invocation security checks, real-time Skills detection and blocking, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) data poisoning protection. For more information, see Agent risk detection and protection.

Effective time

Starting Aug. 25, 2026, Agent Security Center will begin commercial billing for the defense plugin that protects OpenClaw and Hermes agents.

Billing

• Billing model: Pay-as-you-go, post-paid.

• Billing items: The defense fee consists of a defense seat fee (per protected agent instance) and excess Credits fee. Credits are quantified units of defense processing, such as scan operations or blocked attacks. Both fee items are billed on a pay-as-you-go, post-paid basis.

• Billing example: For a single seat running 8 hours per day, the seat fee is approximately USD 0.4592/day (0.0574 × 8). The seat includes 300 free Credits per day, which are consumed first before excess Credits charges apply.

  Note

  If the 300 free Credits are exceeded, the excess is billed at the excess Credits rate.

Impact

1. Customers who enabled the defense plugin before Aug. 17, 2026: The free trial will be extended to Sept. 10, 2026. Standard billing rates will apply starting Sept. 10, 2026.

2. Customers who enabled the defense plugin after Aug. 17, 2026: Billing will automatically start on Aug. 25, 2026, at the rates described above.

3. Customers who have not enabled Agent Security Center: The defense plugin will not be available for free starting Aug. 25, 2026. If you have not enabled Agent Security Center before this date, you must enable it in the console to use defense capabilities.

Action required

Log on to the Alibaba Cloud console, search for and select Agent Security Center from the product list, and go to the defense management page to view the defense plugin status, Credits usage, and remaining trial days.

• Continue using: No action is required. Billing will automatically switch to the new rates after the trial period ends.

• Stop using: Complete both steps below to fully stop billing — disable or uninstall the defense plugin, and turn off pay-as-you-go billing.

  • Disable or uninstall the defense plugin:

    1. Access the Security Center console - Agent Security Center - Agent Overview. At the top of the left side of the page, select the region where the asset to be protected is located: Chinese Mainland or Outside Chinese Mainland

    2. In the relationship diagram on the Agent Overview page, click the central AGENTS icon to go to the Agent Details page.

    3. Switch to the List view, and click the icon in the Security Protection column for the target agent.

    4. In the protection plugin dialog, click Disable Protection or Uninstall Now.

    After disabling, return to the agent list and confirm that the plugin status shows Disabled.

  • Turn off pay-as-you-go billing:

    1. Access the Security Center console - Agent Security Center - Agent Overview. At the top of the left side of the page, select the region where the asset to be protected is located: Chinese Mainland or Outside Chinese Mainland

    2. In the upper-right corner of the page, click Protection Status, and then click Opt out.
