Application Real-Time Monitoring Service:How do I change the storage duration of the data samples for a metric?

Last Updated:Jul 24, 2023

This topic describes how to adjust the storage duration of data samples that use the pay-as-you-go and subscription billing methods.

Procedure

By default, each data sample is stored for 15 days. If you want to store data for a longer duration, perform the following steps to adjust the storage duration:

  1. Log on to the Application Real-Time Monitoring Service (ARMS) console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Prometheus Service > Prometheus Instances.

  3. In the top navigation bar, select the region where the Prometheus instance resides. Then, click the name of the Prometheus instance.

  4. In the left-side navigation pane, click Settings. On the page that appears, click the Storage Duration tab. Set the storage duration and click Save.

    Note
    • You can change the storage duration to 15 days, 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, or 180 days.

    • You cannot change the storage durations of the data samples for Prometheus instances for cloud services, such as Elastic Compute Service, ApsaraDB for MongoDB, or ApsaraDB for Redis. For more information about Prometheus instance types, see What is Managed Service for Prometheus?

Subscription

To adjust the storage duration of data samples that use the subscription billing method, perform the following steps:

  1. Log on to the ARMS console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Prometheus Service > Prometheus Instances.

  3. In the top navigation bar of the Managed Service for Prometheus console, select the region in which the Prometheus instance resides. Locate the instance in the instance list, choose Service Change > Specification Upgrade in the Actions column, and adjust the storage duration.
