Deleting an application from Application Real-Time Monitoring Service (ARMS) permanently removes its metadata. This operation cannot be undone. Observation data is retained and is not affected by the deletion.
To stop monitoring fees without deleting the application, you can pause monitoring instead. See the Pause monitoring section below.
Pause monitoring
Pausing monitoring stops all data collection and billing without removing the application from ARMS. Use this option if you plan to resume monitoring later.
Log in to the ARMS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Application Monitoring > Application List.
On the Applications List page, select a region at the top, and then click the target application name.
In the top navigation bar, choose Application Configuration > Custom Configuration.
In the Probe Switch Settings area, turn on the Pause Application Monitoring switch, and then click Save.
This change takes effect immediately without an application restart. After you turn on this switch, ARMS stops monitoring the application and no further fees are incurred.
Delete the application
To fully remove an application from ARMS, pause monitoring, uninstall the agent, and then delete the application entry.
Step 1: Pause monitoring
Follow the steps in the Pause monitoring section to stop data collection before you proceed.
Step 2: Uninstall the agent
Uninstall the monitoring agent that corresponds to your application language:
| Application language | Uninstall guide |
|---|---|
| Java | Uninstall the Java agent |
| Golang | Uninstall the Golang agent |
The Language column on the Applications List page indicates how each application is integrated:
: Java application integrated with Application Monitoring.
: Golang application integrated with Application Monitoring.
: Python application integrated with Application Monitoring.
-: Application integrated with Managed Service for OpenTelemetry.
Step 3: Delete the application entry
In the top navigation bar, choose Application Configuration > Delete.
Click Delete Application. In the Delete Application dialog box, select a Deletion Reason, and then click OK.
This operation permanently deletes the application metadata and cannot be undone. Observation data is not deleted.
Result
The Application List page appears. The deleted application is no longer displayed in the list.
Billing mode compatibility
Application Monitoring provides a new application details page for users who have enabled the new billing mode. If you have not enabled the new billing mode, click Switch to New Version on the Application List page to access the new page.
