This topic describes how to renew, upgrade, and downgrade an ApsaraMQ for MQTT instance.
Background information
Upgrades and downgrades take effect in the current billing cycle. Renewals take effect in the next billing cycle after the current one ends.
Renew an instance
The system sends a notification to the mobile number associated with your account 7 days before your instance expires. Renew the instance promptly. If you do not renew the instance before it expires, it is retained for 30 days. After 30 days, the instance and its related resources, such as topics and groups, are deleted and cannot be recovered.
Enable auto-renewal (recommended)
If you plan to use a service for an extended period, we recommend that you enable auto-renewal. After you enable this feature, the system automatically renews your resources before they expire. This prevents service disruptions that are caused by expired subscriptions.
Log on to the ApsaraMQ for MQTT console. In the top navigation bar, choose .
On the Renewal Management page, in the Product section, select ApsaraMQ for MQTT (Subscription). From the Region list, select a region.
Click the Manual Renewal tab. Find the instance for which you want to enable auto-renewal and click Enable Auto-renewal in the Actions column.
In the Enable Auto-renewal dialog box, select an Auto-renewal Duration and click Enable Auto-renewal.

Upgrade or downgrade an instance
You can upgrade or downgrade the instance type at any time without service interruptions.
Upgrades for Basic Edition and Professional Edition instances take effect immediately. Upgrades for Platinum Edition instances require assistance from ApsaraMQ for MQTT technical support and may take longer to complete. Your service is not affected during the upgrade.
Downgrades take effect immediately and may result in a refund. The refund is the price difference between the new configuration and the unused portion of your original subscription. For more information about how refunds are calculated, see Unsubscription rules.
If you used a voucher to purchase the instance, the voucher is not refunded when you downgrade the instance.
