    ApsaraMQ for Kafka:Why are more consumer groups displayed than created?

    Symptoms

    You may see more consumer groups on the Groups in the ApsaraMQ for Kafka console than you manually created.

    Possible causes

    • If the Auto Creation column for a consumer group is No, the consumer group was created on the Groups in the ApsaraMQ for Kafka console.
    • If the Auto Creation column for a consumer group is Yes, this may be due to one of the following:
      • If you enable the flexible group creation feature, ApsaraMQ for Kafka automatically creates consumer groups, which are then displayed on the Groups. For more information, see flexible group creation.
      • Committing offsets in Assign mode also creates consumer groups, even if the flexible group creation feature is not enabled.
