ApsaraDB RDS provides the performance events feature. You can view the details and statistics of abnormal events, optimization events, and auto scaling events of an ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL instance. The events include the events that are planned to be executed, the events that are being executed, and the events that are completed.

View events and suggestions

  1. Go to the Instances page. In the top navigation bar, select the region in which the RDS instance resides. Then, find the RDS instance and click the ID of the instance.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Monitoring and Alerts.
  3. On the Performance Events tab, click the Events and Suggestions tab to view the event statistics in a specified time range.
    Note When you select a time range, make sure that the end time is later than the start time and the interval between the start time and the end time does not exceed 7 days.

    • In the Exceptions section, you can view the statistics of abnormal events.
    • In the Optimization Events section, you can view the statistics of optimization events.

    You can filter events by Event Level, Event Name, or Event Type.

    Click Details in the Actions column to view the details of the event.

View events that are planned to be executed and events that are being executed

  1. Go to the Instances page. In the top navigation bar, select the region in which the RDS instance resides. Then, find the RDS instance and click the ID of the instance.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Monitoring and Alerts.
  3. On the Performance Events tab, click the Events in Plan/Execution tab to view the events that are planned to be executed and events that are being executed.

    You can filter events by Event Level.

    Click Details in the Actions column to view the details of the event.

View events that are completed

  1. Go to the Instances page. In the top navigation bar, select the region in which the RDS instance resides. Then, find the RDS instance and click the ID of the instance.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Monitoring and Alerts.
  3. On the Performance Events tab, click the Executed Events tab to view the execution results of events within a specified time range.
    Note When you select a time range, make sure that the end time is later than the start time and the interval between the start time and the end time does not exceed 7 days.

    You can filter events by Event Level.

    Click Details in the Actions column to view the details of the event.

What to do next

Enable the event subscription feature for your RDS instance. When related events are detected on the RDS instance, the system sends you notifications based on the notification method that you specify.
