Maximum storage space

You can scale out the storage space of a created cluster instance. The maximum capacity supported for a cluster instance varies based on its number of CPU cores.

  • For a cluster instance with 32 CPU cores or less, you can scale out its storage space to at most 64 TB.

  • For a cluster instance with more than 32 CPU cores, you can scale out its storage space to at most 128 TB.

Specification types

ApsaraDB for OceanBase supports two node specification types: general and exclusive.

Type

Description

Scenario

General

  • Cluster instances have exclusive access to allocated memory and share CPUs with other general instances on the same node.

  • Standard Edition (Cloud Disk) instances allow you to configure storage resources based on your business requirements.

  • General instances reuse CPU resources to achieve high efficiency with low costs while ensuring user experience.

Lower performance and throughput.

Exclusive

  • Cluster instances have exclusive access to allocated CPU and memory resources.

  • Standard Edition (Cloud Disk) instances allow you to configure storage resources based on your business requirements.

Databases for core business systems that require high performance and stability, such as finance, securities, e-commerce, gaming, and medium- to large-scale Internet business scenarios.

Pricing

Prices differ among the various specification types for cluster instances. For more information, see Billing by node specifications.

Limitations

The China (Zhangjiakou) region is available and supports general Standard Edition (Cloud Disk) cluster instances in ApsaraDB for OceanBase. More regions will be made available in the future. For more information on this service, contact OceanBase Technical Support.
