The OceanBase database proxy service is available in General-purpose and Dedicated specifications. The General-purpose specification is free for a limited time. This topic describes the billing rules for the Dedicated database proxy service.
Billing for General-purpose proxies
The OceanBase database General-purpose proxy service is currently free for a limited time. The billing start date for this service will be announced later.
Billing for Dedicated proxies
The OceanBase database Dedicated proxy service is billed independently on an hourly basis. The billing formula is: Total instance price = vCPU unit price * Number of vCPUs * Number of nodes * Duration. The number of vCPUs is determined by the proxy specification.
Both subscription and pay-as-you-go cluster instances are billed using this formula.
1 vCPU represents 1 core and 2 GB of resources.
Usage for less than one hour is billed as one hour.
For cluster instances deployed in a single data center or in two data centers, the zone coefficient is 2. For cluster instances deployed in three or more data centers, the zone coefficient is 3.
Region | Series | Unit | CPU/Hour/USD |
China-Hong Kong | Standard Edition (Cloud Disk) | 1 vCPU (1 core, 2 GB) | 0.14 |
Southeast Asia - Jakarta | Standard Edition (Cloud Disk) | 1 vCPU (1 core, 2 GB) | 0.14 |
Europe - Frankfurt | Standard Edition (Cloud Disk) | 1 vCPU (1 core, 2 GB) | 0.14 |
Southeast Asia - Singapore | Standard Edition (Cloud Disk) | 1 vCPU (1 core, 2 GB) | 0.14 |
Southeast Asia - Kuala Lumpur | Standard Edition (Cloud Disk) | 1 vCPU (1 core, 2 GB) | 0.14 |
Billing example for a Dedicated proxy
For example, assume that you purchase a cluster instance in the China (Hong Kong) region and use a two-data-center deployment. You enable the Dedicated proxy service for this cluster with a specification of 8 cores and 16 GB per zone. If you use the service for 24 hours, the total price is 0.14 * 8 * 2 * 24 = 53.76 (USD). The hourly fee is 0.14 * 8 * 2 * 1 = 2.24 (USD).
