We recommend that you manually renew an ApsaraDB for HBase instance or enable auto-renewal before the instance expires. This avoids service interruptions caused by expired subscriptions. This topic describes how to enable auto-renewal for a subscription cluster or standalone instance of ApsaraDB for HBase.

Background information

Subscription cluster or standalone instances of ApsaraDB for HBase are available for use only within their subscription durations. If you do not renew the instances before they expire, service interruptions or even data loss may occur. Auto-renewal saves you the hustle of manually renewing your subscription instances and helps avoid service interruptions.

Note Pay-as-you-go instances do not have subscription durations. You do not need to renew pay-as-you-go instances.

Precautions

  • After you enable auto-renewal for your instance, a subscription fee is deducted from your account nine days before the instance expires. You can also use coupons to deduct the subscription fee. Make sure that you have a sufficient balance in your account.
  • If you manually renew the instance before the fee is automatically deducted, the system will renew the instance before the next expiration date is reached.
  • After you enable auto-renewal, the configuration takes effect the next day. If the expiration date of your instance is the next day, we recommend that you manually renew the instance in case the instance expires and causes service interruptions.

Enable auto-renewal when you purchase a subscription cluster or standalone instance

Note After you enable auto-renewal, the system automatically renews the instance based on the subscription duration. For example, if you purchase a subscription instance, set the subscription duration to three months, and enable auto-renewal, the system charges you a subscription fee every three months.
You can select the Auto-renewal check box when you create a subscription cluster or standalone instance. Auto-renewal
