Validity periods of different license types
Trial license
A trial license for ApsaraVideo MediaBox SDK is valid for 30 days from the date of application and expires at 00:00:00 the day after the validity period ends. For example, if you apply for a trial license on March 1, 2023, it remains valid until the end of March 31, 2023 and expires at 00:00:00 on April 1, 2023.
Free license
Player SDK Standard Edition for web clients and Push SDK Standard Edition for mobile clients come with a free license option.
When you get a free license for a module of ApsaraVideo MediaBox SDK by making a zero payment in the ApsaraVideo Live or VOD console, the free license is activated immediately upon purchase. It is valid for 1 year and expires at 00:00:00 the day after the validity period ends. For example, if you activate a free license for Short Video SDK on March 1, 2023, it remains valid until the end of March 1, 2024, and expires at 00:00:00 on March 2, 2024. You must buy a new license once the free one expires.
Paid license
The paid license is activated upon purchase. It is valid for 1 year and expires at 00:00:00 the day after the validity period ends. For example, if you purchase a paid license for Short Video SDK on March 1, 2023, it remains valid until the end of March 1, 2024, and expires at 00:00:00 on March 2, 2024.
Complimentary license that comes with a resource plan purchase
Complimentary licenses offered as a bonus with a resource plan purchase are only available for Player SDK Standard and Professional Editions, and Short Video SDK Basic and Standard Editions.
When you purchase a resource plan of ApsaraVideo VOD, Intelligent Media Services (IMS), or ApsaraVideo Media Processing (MPS), you can claim a complimentary license, which is activated upon purchase. It is valid for 1 year and expires at 00:00:00 the day after the validity period ends. For example, if you purchase a VOD resource plan on March 1, 2023, and redeem a complimentary license, it remains valid until the end of March 1, 2024, and expires at 00:00:00 on March 2, 2024.
