API Gateway:Manage alert rules

After you create an alert rule, you can modify, disable, enable, or delete the alert rule. You can also view the historical alerts and resources of the alert rule and handle exceptions at the earliest opportunity.

Modify an alert rule

If an existing alert rule cannot meet your requirements for the metrics of a specific cloud service, you can modify the alert rule.

  1. Log on to the Cloud-native API Gateway console. If you are using Cloud-native API Gateway for the first time, you must perform the following operations:

    Note

    If you are accessing Cloud-native API Gateway for the first time, the system prompts you to authorize it to create a service-linked role.

    1. On the page that appears, click Authorize Now. In the dialog box that appears, click OK to create the service-linked role.

    2. Click Experience Cloud-native API Gateway Now to go to the console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Alert. In the top navigation bar, select a region.

  3. On the Alert page, find the alert rule that you want to modify and click Modify in the Actions column.

  4. In the Create Alert Rule panel, configure the parameters.

  5. Click Confirm.

Disable alert rules

By default, the status of a newly created alert rule is Normal. If you stop a cloud service for maintenance or upgrade, you can disable the alert rules that are associated with the cloud service. This way, CloudMonitor does not send notifications for the alerts that are triggered by manual operations on the cloud service.

  1. Log on to the Cloud-native API Gateway console. If you are using Cloud-native API Gateway for the first time, you must perform the following operations:

    If you are accessing Cloud-native API Gateway for the first time, the system prompts you to authorize it to create a service-linked role.

    1. On the page that appears, click Authorize Now. In the dialog box that appears, click OK to create the service-linked role.

    2. Click Experience Cloud-native API Gateway Now to go to the console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Alert. In the top navigation bar, select a region.

  3. Disable alert rules.

    • Disable a single alert rule

      1. Find the alert rule that you want to disable, click the 更多 icon in the Actions column, and then click Disable.

      2. In the Disable Alert Rule message, click OK.

    • Disable multiple alert rules

      1. Select the alert rules that you want to disable and click Disable below the list.

      2. In the Disable Alert Rule message, click OK.

Enable alert rules

After you complete the maintenance or upgrade of a monitored Alibaba Cloud service, you can re-enable the associated alert rules that have been disabled during the maintenance or upgrade. After you enable an alert rule, CloudMonitor resumes sending alert notifications based on the alert rule.

  1. Log on to the Cloud-native API Gateway console. If you are using Cloud-native API Gateway for the first time, you must perform the following operations:

    If you are accessing Cloud-native API Gateway for the first time, the system prompts you to authorize it to create a service-linked role.

    1. On the page that appears, click Authorize Now. In the dialog box that appears, click OK to create the service-linked role.

    2. Click Experience Cloud-native API Gateway Now to go to the console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Alert. In the top navigation bar, select a region.

  3. Enable alert rules.

    • Enable a single alert rule

      1. Find the alert rule that you want to enable, click the 更多 icon in the Actions column, and then click Disable.

      2. In the Enable Alert Rule message, click OK.

    • Enable multiple alert rules

      1. Select the alert rules that you want to enable and click Enable below the list.

      2. In the Enable Alert Rule message, click OK.

Delete alert rules

After you delete an alert rule, you no longer receive alert notifications generated based on the alert rule.

  1. Log on to the Cloud-native API Gateway console. If you are using Cloud-native API Gateway for the first time, you must perform the following operations:

    If you are accessing Cloud-native API Gateway for the first time, the system prompts you to authorize it to create a service-linked role.

    1. On the page that appears, click Authorize Now. In the dialog box that appears, click OK to create the service-linked role.

    2. Click Experience Cloud-native API Gateway Now to go to the console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Alert. In the top navigation bar, select a region.

  3. Delete alert rules.

    • Delete a single alert rule

      1. Find the alert rule that you want to delete, click the 更多 icon in the Actions column, and then click Delete.

      2. In the Delete Alert message, click OK.

    • Delete multiple alert rules

      1. Select the alert rules that you want to delete and click Delete below the list.

      2. In the Delete Alert message, click OK.

View historical alerts

You can view the historical alerts of a specific alert rule and resources that triggered the alerts. This way, you can identify and handle exceptions at the earliest opportunity.

  1. Log on to the Cloud-native API Gateway console. If you are using Cloud-native API Gateway for the first time, you must perform the following operations:

    If you are accessing Cloud-native API Gateway for the first time, the system prompts you to authorize it to create a service-linked role.

    1. On the page that appears, click Authorize Now. In the dialog box that appears, click OK to create the service-linked role.

    2. Click Experience Cloud-native API Gateway Now to go to the console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Alert. In the top navigation bar, select a region.

  3. On the Alert page, find the alert rule that you want to manage and click Alert History in the Actions column.

    You can view the details, alert contact group, historical alerts, and resources of the alert rule.

Copy an alert rule

You can copy an alert rule and modify it to suit your new business requirements.

  1. Log on to the Cloud-native API Gateway console. If you are using Cloud-native API Gateway for the first time, you must perform the following operations:

    If you are accessing Cloud-native API Gateway for the first time, the system prompts you to authorize it to create a service-linked role.

    1. On the page that appears, click Authorize Now. In the dialog box that appears, click OK to create the service-linked role.

    2. Click Experience Cloud-native API Gateway Now to go to the console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Alert. In the top navigation bar, select a region.

  3. On the Alert page, find the alert rule that you want to manage and click Clone Rule in the Actions column.

  4. Modify the rule and click Confirm.
