This topic describes the resource status changes and handling policies following the expiration of a cloud-native API gateway instance or an overdue payment on your Alibaba Cloud account. To minimize business disruption, timely subscription renewal is recommended.
Pay-as-you-go
How to determine overdue payment status
In pay-as-you-go mode, if your account balance is insufficient to cover the bill, your Alibaba Cloud account and all associated RAM users will be in an overdue payment status.
Check Overdue payments
Log on to the Expenses and Costs console.
-
In the left-side navigation pane, select Bill Management > Monthly Bill Overview. On the Monthly Bill Overview page, you can view the Overdue Payment Amount.
Impact of Overdue payments

If you settle the outstanding amount during this period, the cloud-native API gateway instance can be resumed for normal use.
-

Alibaba Cloud offers service suspension protection, allowing continued use of Alibaba Cloud services for a certain period or amount after a pay-as-you-go resource incurs an overdue payment. Usage during the extended period is billed as usual. The extended suspension quota is not the maximum overdue payment allowed. The quota is automatically calculated and updated monthly based on factors like your historical spending on Alibaba Cloud. .
Subscription
For subscription resources, the fees are prepaid. You can use the purchased subscription resources normally until they expire. An account with an overdue payment that has not expired does not affect resource usage. However, operations that involve fees, such as purchasing new instances, upgrading configurations, or renewing orders, cannot be performed normally.
Expiration notification
Your Alibaba Cloud account will receive three expiration notifications 7 days (168 hours), 3 days (72 hours), and 1 day (24 hours) before the cloud-native API gateway service expires. These notifications are viewable through internal messages and serve as reminders to renew your subscription promptly.
Check gateway expiration
Log on to the Expenses and Costs console.

In the left-side navigation pane, click Renewal Management to access the Renewal Management page. Click Manual Renewal, Auto-renewal, or Do Not Renew tab as required.
