Anti-DDoS:FAQ: Burstable billing for Anti-DDoS Proxy (Chinese Mainland)

Last Updated:May 29, 2026

This topic answers frequently asked questions about billing for burstable protection for Anti-DDoS Proxy (Chinese Mainland).

Will I be charged for burstable protection without attacks?

No. In this scenario, you only pay the monthly fee for your basic protection bandwidth. You will not incur additional charges for burstable protection.

How is the maximum protection capacity determined?

Your maximum protection capacity depends on the burstable protection bandwidth, which is 50 Gbps in this case. If you set your burstable protection bandwidth to 20 Gbps, your maximum capacity is 20 Gbps, and the burstable protection feature is effectively disabled.

What happens if attack traffic exceeds the burstable protection bandwidth?

If attack traffic exceeds your configured burstable protection bandwidth, the targeted IP address of your Anti-DDoS Proxy (Chinese Mainland) instance is temporarily blackholed.

How is burstable protection billed?

You are charged for burstable protection only on traffic that exceeds your 30 Gbps basic protection bandwidth. In this scenario, the billable amount is 15 Gbps (45 Gbps - 30 Gbps), which costs USD 330/day. For more details, see Billing methods for burstable protection bandwidth.

Can I increase the burstable protection bandwidth?

Yes.

Log on to the Anti-DDoS Proxy console (select Chinese Mainland). On the Instance Management page, you can adjust the protection bandwidth of your Anti-DDoS Proxy (Chinese Mainland) instance. From the instance list, click a target instance to view its details. In the Instance Status section, you can view and modify the Protection Bandwidth and Burstable Bandwidth settings on this page.

Note

Charges for attacks that occur on the day of the modification are based on the previous settings. The new burstable bandwidth setting will apply to billing starting the next day.

How can I upgrade the protection capacity?

Yes. You can either upgrade the basic protection bandwidth of your instance or increase its burstable protection bandwidth.

  • Upgrade the basic protection bandwidth

Log on to the Anti-DDoS Proxy console (select Chinese Mainland). On the Instances page, upgrade the instance by increasing its basic protection bandwidth and complete the payment. For more information, see Upgrade an instance.

  • Increase the burstable protection bandwidth

Log on to the Anti-DDoS Proxy console (select Chinese Mainland). On the Instance Management page, adjust the protection bandwidth of your Anti-DDoS Proxy (Chinese Mainland) instance. Enabling burstable protection requires no upfront payment. Instead, you are billed on a pay-as-you-go basis according to the volume of attack traffic. For more information, see Billing methods for burstable protection bandwidth.

How are multiple attacks in one day billed?

You are billed only once for the day based on the peak attack traffic within that 24-hour period (00:00 to 24:00). For example, if a protected IP address is attacked three times in one day with peak traffic of 50 Gbps, 100 Gbps, and 200 Gbps, the daily charge is calculated based on the highest peak of 200 Gbps.

How can I disable burstable protection?

To disable burstable protection and avoid pay-as-you-go charges, set the burstable protection bandwidth equal to the basic protection bandwidth. This prevents burstable protection from being triggered if an attack exceeds the basic protection bandwidth.

Log on to the Anti-DDoS Proxy console (select Chinese Mainland). On the Instance Management page, adjust the protection bandwidth for your Anti-DDoS Proxy (Chinese Mainland) instance.

Why am I not billed for burstable protection after an attack?

This can happen if the inbound traffic peak was either below your basic protection bandwidth or exceeded your configured burstable protection bandwidth.

In these scenarios, burstable protection is not triggered, and no charges are incurred.
