Anti-DDoS:Upgrade Anti-DDoS Origin to Anti-DDoS Proxy

This topic describes how to upgrade Anti-DDoS Origin to Anti-DDoS Proxy to enhance protection for your assets. If the mitigation capability of Anti-DDoS Origin cannot meet your business requirements due to the service architecture of Anti-DDoS Origin, we recommend that you upgrade Anti-DDoS Origin to Anti-DDoS Proxy.

If one of the following issues occurs when you use Anti-DDoS Origin, we recommend that you upgrade Anti-DDoS Origin to Anti-DDoS Proxy:

  • Volumetric DDoS attacks exist for a long period of time.

  • HTTP flood attacks that cannot be mitigated by Anti-DDoS Origin exist.

  • Other specific issues.

Important

If you upgrade Anti-DDoS Origin to Anti-DDoS Proxy, Alibaba Cloud refunds you for the remaining subscription of your Anti-DDoS Origin instance.

If Anti-DDoS Origin or Anti-DDoS Proxy alone cannot meet your business requirements, we recommend that you use Anti-DDoS Origin together with Anti-DDoS Proxy. For more information, see Use Anti-DDoS Origin in combination with Anti-DDoS Proxy (Chinese Mainland).

Procedure

  1. Contact technical support engineers of Alibaba Cloud to evaluate your business scenario and determine whether all upgrade conditions are met. For more information, see Contact us.

  2. If all upgrade conditions are met, Alibaba Cloud refunds you for the remaining subscription of your Anti-DDoS Origin instance.

    The refund is calculated based on the specifications and remaining subscription period of the Anti-DDoS Origin instance.

  3. Purchase an Anti-DDoS Proxy instance. For more information, see Purchase an Anti-DDoS Proxy instance.

  4. Add your services to the Anti-DDoS Proxy instance for protection.
