AnalyticDB:Youshu BI

AnalyticDB for MySQL allows you to establish a connection by using Youshu BI of NetEase for data visualization and analysis. This topic describes how to use Youshu BI to connect to AnalyticDB for MySQL and analyze data in a visualized manner.

Prerequisites

Before you use Youshu BI to connect to AnalyticDB for MySQL, make sure that the following requirements are met:

  • An AnalyticDB for MySQL cluster is created. For more information, see Create a cluster.

  • The following IP addresses of the Youshu server are added to a whitelist of the AnalyticDB for MySQL cluster. For information about how to configure a whitelist, see Configure an IP address whitelist.

    • 59.111.241.36

    • 59.111.222.188

  • A public endpoint is applied for the AnalyticDB for MySQL cluster. For more information, see Apply for or release a public endpoint.

  • The Youshu BI service of NetEase is activated. For more information, see NetEase Youshu BI.

  • A project is created and you have the permissions to edit data sources. For more information, see Getting started.

Limits

Only Youshu BI V7.8.1 and later allow you to connect to AnalyticDB for MySQL data sources.

Use Youshu BI to connect to AnalyticDB for MySQL

  1. Log on to the NetEase Youshu BI console and click Use Now.

  2. In the top navigation bar, click Data Source.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Data Connection.

  4. On the Data Connection page, click the 2 icon in the upper-right corner and select Add.1

  5. On the New Data Connection page, select AnalyticDB for MySQL.

  6. Configure the parameters that are described in the following table.

    Parameter

    Description

    Name

    The name that identifies the data connection.

    Server

    The public endpoint that is used to connect to the AnalyticDB for MySQL cluster. You can obtain the public endpoint on the Cluster Information page in the AnalyticDB for MySQL console.

    Port

    The port that is used to connect to the AnalyticDB for MySQL cluster. Set the value to 3306.

    Username

    The name of the database account that is used to connect to the AnalyticDB for MySQL cluster. The account can be one of the following types:

    • Privileged account

    • Standard account

    You can view the account information on the Accounts page in the AnalyticDB for MySQL console. If no account information is available on the Accounts page, create an account. For more information, see Create a database account.

    Password

    The password of the database account that is used to connect to the AnalyticDB for MySQL cluster.

  7. Click Connect.2

  8. After the connection is successful, click Save in the upper-right corner.

  9. Select or create a folder and then click Save.

Use Youshu BI to create a visual model

Create a data model to prepare for visualized data analysis.

  1. In the upper-right corner of the created data connection, click Create Model.

  2. In the Table section, drag one or more tables to the workspace to the right side.

  3. Process the data based on your business requirements and then click Save and Create Report in the upper-right corner.4

    Note

    In the workspace, you can associate multiple tables into one table or perform data processing operations such as renaming fields, converting data types, processing null values, creating data dictionaries, creating calculated fields, creating hierarchies, and grouping.   4. Select or create a folder and then click Save.

Use Youshu BI to perform visualized data analysis

Use the created data model to perform visualized data analysis and create visualized data reports.

The following figure shows the report creation interface.7

Allows you to draw a visualized data report.

Report Setting

Displays the settings of the control that you select in the canvas area and allows you to drag fields from the Data Model area to draw charts.

Data Model

Displays the available data models and their fields.
