    AI-Native Database Service:Get started with DAS Agent

    DAS Agent is an intelligent agent designed for database O&M. It supports conversational diagnostics for performance analysis, slow SQL optimization, and schema governance. This topic describes how to get started with the core diagnostics features of DAS Agent.

    Prerequisites

    • An Alibaba Cloud account is created, and identity verification is complete.

    • An Alibaba Cloud database instance is available, such as ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL or PolarDB for MySQL. DAS Agent Basic Edition is free of charge. Enterprise Edition requires a separate purchase. For more information, see Billing.

    Procedure

    Step 1: Go to DAS Agent

    1. Log on to the AI-Native Database Service console.

    2. In the left-side navigation pane, in the Data Agent section, click Database O&M.

    Step 2: Select a database instance

    1. In the instance panel on the left side of the DAS Agent page, select the database instance that you want to diagnose.

    2. If no instances are registered, DAS Agent guides you through the process of registering a database instance.

    Step 3: Run diagnostics by using scenario templates or natural language

    DAS Agent provides preset scenario templates. You can also describe your O&M requirements in natural language.

    Scenario templates: Select a scenario template from the bottom of the conversation panel. Examples:

    • CPU usage analysis: Analyze CPU usage and identify hot SQL statements for an instance.

    • Slow query log analysis: Identify and optimize slow SQL statements.

    • SQL diagnostics: Analyze the performance of a specific SQL statement and provide optimization suggestions.

    Natural language: Describe your requirements in the conversation panel. For example, enter "Analyze slow SQL statements from the past week" or "Check for database performance bottlenecks."

    Step 4: View the diagnostic report

    DAS Agent returns diagnostic results that include the following information:

    • Issue identification and root cause analysis.

    • Optimization suggestions, including index optimization and SQL rewrite recommendations.

    • One-click optimization actions, if applicable.

    You can ask follow-up questions to further analyze a specific issue or switch to another instance for diagnostics.
