Container Service for Kubernetes:Cluster management fees (ACK Pro clusters)

Last Updated:Jun 15, 2026

ACK Pro clusters incur an hourly management fee per cluster.

ACK Pro clusters are available as standard ACK Pro clusters or with preset control plane editions (Pro XL, Pro 2XL, and Pro 4XL).

Billing method

ACK Pro clusters are billed hourly per cluster on a pay-as-you-go basis. See the Price Calculator for rates.

Billing cycle

The cluster management fee is billed hourly. At the beginning of each hour (UTC+8), Alibaba Cloud calculates the previous hour's cluster usage and generates a bill. The billable item is ACK Pro Pricing.

Important

The cluster management fee applies during the normal cluster lifecycle when your ACK Pro cluster is in one of these states: Running, Upgrading, Draining, Removing, or Updating.

No charges are incurred in the first billing cycle when a cluster is created or in the last billing cycle when a cluster is released. For example, if you create an ACK Pro cluster at 10:20:00 and release it at 13:40:00:

  • The first billing cycle is from 10:00 to 11:00. No bill is generated because the cluster runs for less than one hour in this cycle.

  • The second billing cycle is from 11:00 to 12:00. A bill is generated because the cluster runs for the full hour.

  • The third billing cycle is from 12:00 to 13:00. A bill is generated because the cluster runs for the full hour.

  • The fourth billing cycle is from 13:00 to 14:00. No bill is generated because the cluster is released during this cycle.

A bill is typically generated within 10 to 30 minutes after a billing cycle ends.

  • If your available account balance, including credits and vouchers, is sufficient to cover the payable amount, the fee is automatically deducted.

  • If your available account balance is insufficient to cover the payable amount, you will receive an insufficient balance notification by email. Top up your account as soon as possible to settle the outstanding bill and avoid business impact.

Billing examples

  • Example 1: No cluster management fee is charged

An ACK Basic cluster does not incur a cluster management fee, so no related bill is generated.

  • Example 2: Pay-as-you-go cluster management fee

Assume you have one standard ACK Pro cluster in the China (Hangzhou) region of the public cloud. The cluster management fee is USD 0.09 per hour.
