The secure phone number is a core credential for your Alibaba Cloud account used for identity verification. This number is used for secondary authentication and receiving critical security notifications. This topic describes how to change your secure phone number while you are logged on to your Alibaba Cloud account.
Scenarios for modifying the secure phone
You should change your secure phone number as soon as possible in the following scenarios to ensure normal access to your account and the security of your assets.
Your original phone number is no longer available because it was suspended or changed, or the phone was lost.
Change the account owner
Your security policy requires you to update the phone number periodically.
Prerequisites
This topic applies only to changing the secure phone number for an Alibaba Cloud account while you are logged on. Choose a solution based on whether your original secure phone is available:
The original secure phone is available. Use a phone verification code to complete the identity verification.
The original secure phone is unavailable. Receive a verification code at your logon mailbox to complete the verification.
If both your original secure phone and logon mailbox are unavailable, see Account email address is unavailable to change your secure phone number through the appeal process.
Procedure
Resource Access Management (RAM) users, RAM roles, or users who log on using enterprise Single Sign-On (SSO) cannot change the secure phone number of the Alibaba Cloud account. Contact the account administrator to log on to the Alibaba Cloud account and perform the operation.
Log on to the Alibaba Cloud Account Center and go to the Security Settings page. In the Mobile Number section, click Change.
On the identity verification page, verify your identity using your original secure phone or logon mailbox. If both your original secure phone and logon mailbox are unavailable, see Account email address is unavailable to change your secure phone number through the appeal process.
After your identity is verified, enter the new Secure Phone and click Get Free Verification Code. Enter the verification code that you receive and click Confirm to complete the change.
NoteEnter a phone number registered in the country or region that you selected when you created your account.
A single phone number can be attached to a maximum of 6 Alibaba Cloud accounts. If you exceed this limit, use a different phone number or close an account that you no longer use. For more information about how to close an account, see Close your Alibaba Cloud account.
The system displays A Success Message.

What do I do if I do not receive a verification code when changing my secure phone?
If your logon mailbox or original secure phone number is accessible, try resending the code. You can also see What do I do if I do not receive a verification code during registration or logon? to troubleshoot the issue or submit an appeal.

Does changing the secure phone number also change the logon phone number?
Yes, it does. The secure phone number is the number used for logging on, identity verification, and password retrieval. After you change it, you must use the new phone number to log on and receive verification codes.
