AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL allows you to switch between billing methods for instances based on your business requirements.
Usage notes
When you change the billing method of an AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL instance, the workloads on the instance are not interrupted.
The subscription billing method is more cost-effective than the pay-as-you-go billing method, and you are offered higher discounts for longer subscription periods. For long-term use, we recommend that you select the subscription billing method.
Procedure
Switch to subscription
When you switch the billing method of an instance from pay-as-you-go to subscription, an order is generated. The new billing method does not take effect until you complete the payment of the order. If the order is unpaid or the payment fails, the incomplete order is displayed on the Orders page. In this case, you cannot purchase instances or switch between billing methods until you pay for the order.
- Log on to the AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL console.
- In the upper-left corner of the console, select a region.
Find the instance whose billing method you want to change and choose in the Actions column.
Select a renewal duration, read and select the Terms of Service, and then click Buy Now.
On the Purchase page, confirm the information about the unpaid order and the payment method, and then click Purchase.
Switch to pay-as-you-go
Each pay-as-you-go instance is billed and paid by hour. To prevent overdue payments that may cause downtime, make sure that your account balance is sufficient.
- Log on to the AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL console.
- In the upper-left corner of the console, select a region.
Find the instance whose billing method you want to change and choose in the Actions column.
On the page that appears, read the notes and check the refund amount in the lower part of the page.
Read and select the Terms of Service.
Click Buy Now.
