This topic describes how to use the system event alert feature. This feature allows you to receive alert notifications for system events in a timely manner and automate the handling process.

Background information

CloudMonitor supports the following notification methods for system events:
  • Sends alert notifications to you by using emails or DingTalk chatbots.
  • Pushes alert notifications to your Message Service queue, Function Compute, Log Service, or the specified callback URL. Then, you can automate the handling process based on your scenario.

Create an event-triggered alert rule

  1. Log on to the CloudMonitor console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Event Monitoring.
  3. On the Event Monitoring page, click the Alarm Rules tab.
  4. On the Alarm Rules tab, click Create Event Alert.
  5. In the Create / Modify Event Alert right-side navigation pane, set the parameters in the Basic Information, Event alert, and Alarm Type sections.
If you set the Resource Range parameter to All Resources, CloudMonitor sends alert notifications for any resource-related events. If you set the Resource Range parameter to Application Groups, CloudMonitor sends alert notifications for events related to the resources in the specified application group.
  6. Click OK.

Test an event-triggered alert rule

  1. Log on to the CloudMonitor console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Event Monitoring.
