Elastic High Performance Computing:Upgrade an E-HPC client

Last Updated:Apr 27, 2023

If the version of your Elastic High Performance Computing (E-HPC) client is too early to support your business, you can upgrade your E-HPC client to the latest version. This topic describes how to upgrade an E-HPC client to the latest version. After you upgrade the client, you can also roll back the client to an earlier version.

Important

We recommend that you update the version of your E-HPC client during offpeak hours and make sure that no scale-in is in progress.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the E-HPC console.

  2. In the left part of the top navigation bar, select a region.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Cluster.

  4. On the Cluster page, find the cluster and click Details.

  5. In the E-HPC agent version section of the Cluster Details page, upgrade or roll back the client based on your needs.

    • To upgrade the client, click Upgrade Client.

After the upgrade is completed, you can check whether the client is upgraded in the E-HPC agent version section. You can also log on to the cluster and run the ls -l /usr/local/ehpc command to view the current client version.

      Note

About five minutes is required to upgrade an E-HPC client. If your cluster has a large number of nodes, the upgrade may take a longer time.

    • To roll back the client to an earlier version, click View Upgrade History. In the panel that appears, find the upgrade record and click Roll back to X.X.X.
