:Group and channel management

Last Updated:Apr 23, 2026

This document explains how to centrally manage your Telegram groups and channels in the Chat App Message Service console. It details the complete process, from creating a channel and obtaining a public link to adding groups and channels in bulk.

Prerequisites

Before you add a group or channel, make sure you meet the following requirements:

  • You have created a Telegram-type channel. For instructions, see Create and manage Telegram channels.

  • You have created and connected a bot. For instructions, see Bot management.

  • You have created the target group or channel in Telegram and added the bot as an administrator. For instructions, see How to create Telegram groups and channels.

  • You have obtained the public link for the group or channel.

Add a group or channel

  1. Log on to the Chat App Message Service console.

  2. In the left navigation pane, click Channel Management.

  3. Click the Channel ID of the desired Telegram-type channel to open its details page.

  4. Click the Group/Channel Management > Connect New Group/Channel.

  5. In the dialog box, enter the Public URL of the group or channel.

Example of a public link format: https://t.me/test4getchat

  6. Click Identity Info. The system automatically identifies and displays the name, type, and bot role of the group or channel.

  7. After confirming the information is correct, click Connect.

    Note

You can only add a group or channel if the bot role is administrator or member. If the bot has not joined the group or channel, or if it has insufficient permissions, the addition will fail.
