This topic shows you how to use coupon codes and answers common questions.
What is a coupon code?
A coupon code is a special string of characters that acts as a voucher. You can redeem it on the order confirmation page to receive one or more coupons. To ensure security and validity, get coupon codes only from the following official channels:
Official campaign pages: On the Alibaba Cloud International Website.
Email notifications: Sent from official emails from the Alibaba Cloud International Website.
Contact sales: By contacting an Alibaba Cloud sales representative.
Important: A coupon code is not a direct discount. You must first redeem it for a coupon. The coupon can then be used to receive a discount on your payment, according to its specific terms and conditions. For more details on using the final discount, see Use coupons.
Each coupon code has its own expiration date, redemption limits, specific conditions, and applicable scope. Please review the rules of the corresponding promotion before use.
How to use your coupon code
Once you have a coupon code, you can redeem it for a coupon when purchasing subscription products.
Select your product and proceed to checkout.
Go to a product purchase page and select a subscription product, such as a subscription-based ECS or RDS instance. Add it to your shopping cart. On the shopping cart page, click Buy Now to go to the Confirm Order page.Redeem the coupon code. In the top-right corner, find the redemption input box, enter your case-sensitive coupon code, and click Redeem.
After a successful redemption, you can find your coupon in the Coupon drop-down list on the Confirm Order page. You can also view all your coupons in the Expenses And Costs console under Coupons. If the redemption fails, check the reason provided by the system prompt or contact your sales representative for assistance.
Once you have redeemed your coupon code, you can use it to get a discount on your current order.
Automatic selection: The system will automatically select the most suitable coupon for your order based on two rules: It must be applicable to the order and it must be the one expiring the soonest. Only one coupon can be used per order.
Manual selection. If you have multiple coupons and the one you just redeemed is not the one expiring soonest, it might not be automatically selected. You can click the coupon drop-down list to view all available coupons for the current order and manually select the one you wish to use.
Complete your payment.
After selecting a coupon, the system will automatically update the total price to reflect the discount. Confirm that the final price is correct and complete your payment.
