After you use Hybrid Backup Recovery (HBR) to back up an Oracle database to a backup vault, you can restore the Oracle database based on your business requirements. You can restore the database to the original Oracle instance, to another Oracle instance that uses the same backup vault, or to an Oracle instance in another region.

Prerequisites

The Oracle database is backed up. For more information, see Back up an Oracle database.

Create a restoration job

To create a restoration job, perform the following steps:

  1. Log on to the HBR console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Backup > Database Backup.
  3. In the top navigation bar, select a region.
  4. On the Database Backup page, click the Oracle tab.
  5. Click the ECS Database Instance or Local Database Instance tab.
  6. On the ECS Database Instance or Local Database Instance tab, find the Oracle instance that you want to restore, and click Restore in the Actions column.
  7. In the Create Restore Job dialog box, configure the following settings as prompted.
    1. Set the restoration parameters and click Next. The following table describes the parameters.
      Parameter Description
      Recovery Point Select a point in time to which the database is restored.
      Restore Items By default, the database instance that you want to restore, config file, and password file are displayed.
    2. Configure the restoration plan and click Next. The following table describes the parameters.
      Parameter Description
      Plan Name The name of the scheduled restoration job.
      Restore Time Run Now. This value indicates that the restoration job is immediately run.
    3. Configure the restoration settings and click Next.
      Parameter Description
      Concurrent Threads The number of concurrent threads when files are being restored.
      Retry Time The time interval between two consecutive reconnection attemptswhen the database is disconnected during restoration. Unit: minutes.
      Speed Limit The maximum size of data that is restored per second. Unit: MB/s.
    4. Select the instance that you want to restore and click Create.
      Select the database instance that you want to restore. By default, the most recent backed up instance is selected.
    After you create a restoration job, the job automatically starts. On the Backup Plan tab, you can view the status of the restoration job.
